Waxing

Waxing Dos & Don’ts

Avoid waxing if you:

• are using anti-aging or skin thinning products for facial waxing… AHAs, etc.
• are sunburnt or have been exposed to UV rays within the past 12 hours
• are on Roaccutane or acne medication
• have varicose veins
• are diabetic
• are allergic to essential oils

Wax after-care, avoid the following:

• hot baths/showers
• tight clothing
• exercise or anything that will cause you to perspire
• heat treatments or UV exposure (including sauna)
• body lotions, fake tan, etc.

Burgundy’s tan rooms, are probably one of the busiest tan rooms in the whole of Dublin. With a fabulous set up for group parties, or just our weekly tan client, our bespoke rooms create a fabulous environment for having your tan done. Our machines have built in extractor units that work to clean and filter the air by extracting the overspray and moisture from the surroundings, minimising overspray and inhalation of airborne pollution for the client.

Burgundy’s Top Tips and Q&A:

Exfoliate and moisturise for a few days coming up to your spray tan then, on the day of your tan, do neither. Do not apply deodorant, perfume or any product on the skin and wear loose dark clothing.

Q: How long does a spray tan last?

A: That all depends on the client and it will depend on the skin condition. It will also depend on how well the client maintains it at home but usually between 4-7 days.

Q: How do I maintain my tan?

A: There are a few tricks you can do:

• Moisturise every day with a non-oil based moisturiser. (Oil will crack your tan and give you a “snake” like look. Avoid it unless you are trying to remove the remnants of tan – in that case, it’s brilliant to help with tan-removal.)
• If you want to prolong your tan, Burgundy offer a home-care “tan in a can” in order for you to top up in the comfort of your own home as it fades.

Q: When can I shower after a spray tan?

A: We usually recommend you leave your tan for 8-10 hours before showering.

PhiBrows

PhiBrows is a manual, semi-permanent technique of hyper-realistic eyebrow drawing in which the shape of eyebrows is calculated according to facial morphology and golden proportion (phi 1,618). In order to successfully perform the treatment, the skin must not be in the regeneration process, i.e. it must not be damaged. If there is eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, acne, pimples or any damage in the eyebrows area, seven days before treatment you can use our PhiTopic cream that will eliminate the problems.

About the treatment

Strokes are always drawn in the direction of natural hairs’ growth to achieve hyper-realistic look.

Treatment is performed with disposable sterile tools (PhiBrush) and pigments are produced in accordance with the highest standards (PhiBrows microblading pigments).

Correction is done a month after the treatment, because between 10 and 15% of drawn strokes disappear after the first treatment.

Please note that the colour is extremely dark during the first 5 to 7 days. 7 days later, it loses 40 to 50% of its intensity. If you think the colour is too dark, do not try to remove it yourself by no means. Patiently wait 7 days for the colour to fade on its own after the healing of the skin.

Colour duration primarily depends on how oily the skin is. The oilier the skin, the shorter the colour lasts. Sweating and sun exposure also reduce colour fastness.

On average, expected time until a new colour refreshment is between 10 and 12 months. With oily skin it is up to 6 months.

The healing is fully completed after 28 days and this is when we perform an obligatory addition of the pigment that has been lost.

What is Micro Needling?

Advanced medical micro-needling is a treatment that can help to tighten, firm and rejuvenate your skin. So how does a Laser Therapy Mask Work?

LED repairs the skin while also being able to treat rosacea, acne, ageing skin and amazing for an add on to any skin treatment. There is a red and blue light. The red light helps to neutralise bacteria and calm the skin while the red light stimulates cellular regeneration. It utilises galvanic features that allows better penetration of products into the deeper layer of the skin. A customised ampoule is then applied to the skin prior to placing the mask on your face and neck for 15- 30 minutes.
